A beautiful 1963 Martin D-28. Highly figured Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, the instrument is beautiful and in exceptional, all original condition. High quality examples like this are becoming harder and harder to find. Warm, woody tone, amazing volume and presence that only years of aging fine tone woods and playing can produce. Black light examination reveals only one small inch long repair on the top at the bottom of the lower bout on the treble side. It is hardly visible with the naked eye. There are no top cracks other than the normal potato chip shrinkage crack between the bridge and pick guard. There is no evidence of a bridge reset, no evidence of a neck reset, and no cracks or repairs in the Brazilian rosewood back and sides. There is normal wear through the finish on the back of the neck, and some light over spray on the back of the neck only, however overall this guitar is in stunning condition, and has obviously been well cared for. Action is medium to low and favors finger style, but as with all martin guitars after 55 years this guitar could probably use a neck set so a taller saddle can be installed. Minor, below normal fret wear, it does not appear that this guitar was played very much. Martin logo is present and undisturbed, headstock is shiny and the original patent pending Grover tuning machines still work perfectly. Comes complete with the original hard shell case and a new Martin deluxe hard shell case to make sure that it is delivered safely so there will be two boxes shipped.
